Brian was born July 18th, 1959 the first of four children to Henry and Dolores Harmony.  He attended St. Cabrini, Edison Middle and Lanphier High Schools, graduating in 1977. He is the father of three children, Daniel, Brian Jr. and Rachael.  He got his start in acting in the late 70's and early 80's with Catholic Youth Organization productions and a shadow casting of Rocky Horror Picture Show.  He could not settle on a job and finally in 1981 started college.  After his first full year he decided that he did not want to be in debt without a career and pursued full time employment.  He had joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 1979 with the intention of getting his college paid for but liked it so much he went active duty in 1983 and served until his retirement in 2005.  Just wanting to relax in the retiree mode and pursue his hobbies, he received a call in the Spring of 2009 from his daughter Rachael, about a play that was being produced at Springfield High School.  They needed a person to play a possessed teacher (seriously, there was no type casting). At first he declined telling his daughter he was too old to start taking up acting.  After much insistence from Rachael he agreed to do the play.  He caught the bug again and enrolled in college to finish his degree he started in 1979.  Albeit, with a slight change.  Instead of pre-law, he pursued a degree in Integrated Performance and Acting. He graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, IL May 2016.

Brian served twenty-six years in the Illinois Army National Guard,  He worked primarily at the State and Battalion headquarter levels, holding many different positions, with the last being the State level Incentive/GI Bill Manager position. While working as the State Incentive Manager he developed a GI Bill recoupment program that had not previously been in place for the Army National Guard.  The creation of this program resulted in him being asked to give a briefing in the Secretary of Defense, Reserve Affairs Office at the Pentagon to explain how the program worked.  He was additionally tasked with rewriting the Incentive Regulation, NGR 600-7 at National Guard Bureau which he did in May and June 2002.

Brian has studied Martial Arts for almost forty years. Over the years he has studied several styles. The last fifteen years he has attended the Springfield Karatedo Budokai Dojo under the USKK lineage. The director of the USKK is Mr. Phillip Koeppel and Mr. Harmony's Sensei is Mr. Lucky Phillips.
